How Do I Calculate Savings
How to determine your usage
Lets first take a look at your bar graph. For AC Electric, you'll need to add up each month. PSE&G you'll need to do the same but then multiply by 30 (days), JCP&L does it for you. Look to the bottom left side of the bill where it says last 12 months of usage. Don't have 12 months usage? No problem, we have a solution for that.
What is your rate?
Take the amount of your monthly bill and divide it into the amount of usage (kWh) you used for that month. This will give you the approximate rate.
Yearly Cost
Take your rate and multiply it by your yearly consumption. This is what you added up using your bar graph. This tells you approximately what you paid over the last year.
Solar Savings
This is where it gets a little tricky. But don't worry, I got you! The positioning of your home determines the rate. More sun, more savings.
